Ricardo Tormo Race Circuit, the first track integrated into the Global Sports Innovation Center´s network
- The primary objectives of the agreement are digital transformation, fan experience and the implementation of smart features
1/30/2018. Ricardo Tormo Race Circuit has become a part of the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft (GSIC), a worldwide network throughout the sports industry, technology companies, sports organizations and academic institutions.
The general manager of GSIC, Iris Córdoba, and the general manager of the Ricardo Tormo Race Circuit, Gonzalo Gobert, have signed an agreement for Cheste circuit to become the first track to join the innovation center.
More than 170 members from 22 different countries and all facets of sports come together in Microsoft´s leading initiative, including entities like LaLiga, ACB, Real Madrid or the Real Sociedad de San Sebastián and with brands like Cigna, LG or Orange among many others.
There are four main objectives to be launched with this alliance. The first begins with the help of GSIC to the circuit’s digital transformation through diverse management technologies.
The fans will be the focus in the second objective: to improve the services offered before, during and after each event, tailoring the facilities to enhance fan experience.
The recently created Specialized Center for Motor Sport Technification which groups the two driving schools of the Circuit – la Cuna de Campeones y la Fórmula de Campeones – with the driving schools and road safety, will also be an objective of the agreement.
Finally, as a long-term goal, the alliance with the GSIC will serve to transform the Circuit Ricardo Tormo into a ´smart venue´ facility that will exceed the expectations of its users, clients and fans.
The general manager of the Circuit has stated that they are “very satisfied with the signing of this agreement that makes us the first circuit in this innovation ecosystem that will allow us to go a step further and offer the best service possible to our groups of interest.”
The general manager of the GSIC has highlighted “the great value that it represents for our Center´s entire ecosystem and the opportunity to meaningfully contribute to Ricardo Tormo Race Circuit’s goal to be a pioneer in digital transformation with their facility characteristics,” and she has also emphasized the importance of the circuit´s desire to transfer the advantages that technology can provide to fans and other aspects of motorsport.
