World Football Summit 2018 SPECIAL
On September 24 and 25, the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft
team attended the third edition of the World Football Summit, an event that is
gaining more an international impact each year. Meetingsand networking with our partners,
presentation of the GSIC Institute, SportThech debate table and the final of the
StartCup Challenge by GSIC, are some of the main activities that we carried out within
the World Football Summit 2018.

The winner of the StartCup Challenge by GSIC is YBVR!
The US startup Yerbabuena Virtual Reality (YBVR), specialized in the broadcasting of sport
events in Virtual Reality, has been the winner of WFS StartCup, the competition aimed at
projects or startups that support the presence of technology in the football industry or the
sport. The audience prize went to NFC Sound, a startup in the Netherlands.
Other companies that participated in the final of the StartCup by GSIC this year are
Challengermode (Sweden), Content Stadium (Netherlands), Satisfi Lab (USA), Valorafutbol
(EAU) and Zegami (United Kingdom).

GSIC and ESBS present their own training center: GSIC Institute Global Sports Innovation Center
powered by Microsoft (GSIC) and ESBS European Sport Business.
School have reached an agreement for the opening of GSIC Institute, a center whose mission
is to help the training of professionals and organizations in the area of digital transformation
and entrepreneurship among others.

25 finalists of the Sport Thinkers Smart Staduim competition.
After the closing of the call on September 21, the names of the 25 finalist companies of
the Sport Thinkers Smart Stadium competition organized by the Global Sports
Innovation Center powered by Microsoft in collaboration with the Real Sociedad S.A.D. and
Microsoft are chosen!
This competition for technology based companies aims to carry out actions that support
the digital transformation of the Anoeta stadium, which is currently is under reconstruction

Virtual Meeting – Professional Athlete’s Health September 18 th
The health of the professional athlete is a maxim that is repeated in all sports.
Nowadays, every athlete is required more. A higher level of effort, a higher level of
training and competition has raised the levels of requirement to the maximum,
both physiological andpsychological capabilities of athletes.
