We’ve been waiting for the perfect moment to bring you the biggest international event for our network and here it is! We are organizing our first Summit for GSIC Members in order to bring you all together for 2 days full of intensive work, networking, knowledge transferring and also catching up with our team!
On April 23rd, the Global Sports Innovation Center held the 4rd General Assembly, in which both the management aspects related to 2018 and the action plan for the year 2019 were approved unanimously. The General Manager of the GSIC, Iris Córdoba, presented the key figures corresponding to the operational and economic activity during the last fiscal year, which are included in the Activity Report of the GSIC.
Startup Competition 2019 had already completed its first phase closing the call for applications on March 30th. Since the launch of this project we are developing together with LaLiga, we have received application from 55 different countries and now we are moving toward the screening of all the companies who entered the competition. This process will be developed on different stages including the evaluation on behalf of GISC, LaLiga, Microsoft Corporation and major sports industry experts. We will know the list of 25 pre-finalists by the end of April.
The members of the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft are invited to attend the 4th General Assembly, which will be celebrated on April 23, 2019, at 10:00 am on first call and at 10:30 am on second, at the Center's facilities (c / Goya, 90 - Madrid) It will be the moment to make a balance of the results of the year 2018 and move forward for the challenges of 2019, as well as an excellent meeting and networking opportunity for all the members.
On March 26th the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft organized together with Microsoft for Startups Europe and Microsoft Ibérica, and hosted the event ‘Exploring Microsoft for Startups’. This was the fourth session offered by Microsoft for Startups Europe team who came to Madrid to connect with local startups from different sectors. The event took place during the whole day and consisted in two main parts: presentations and getting in touch and one-to-one sessions where companies could personally talk to Microsoft for Startups Europe team.
On the week on March 18th, the tree winners of the competition Sport Thinkers eSports had attended to Barcelona to spend 3 days of intensive working session with the company and to continue building their projects that will be implemented within Mediapro eSports Area.
On the past March 21st, during the 11th Networking session for its members, the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft, had officially introduced a brand new Members Area, an intranet, where all the Center’s members can get now more information about each other, share their content and get exclusive news from GSIC and its members.
