During the oficcial launch of GSIC new office in Singapore on December 7, the center presented a new showroom of innovative solutions developed by GSIC members in areas of Fan Engagement, Smart Stadiums, Business Insights,  Team and Player Performance, Education, Media, Esports, Sponsorship, Fitness and Wellness and Sustainability.



The global sports industry is entering a new era: technology is transforming processes at breathtaking speed, which has changed fan expectations and the match-viewing experience. LaLiga has been leading this revolution for years, bringing fans ever closer to the experience of the game through the most sophisticated innovations. To promote this digital transformation, the organisation created LaLiga Tech, its technological subsidiary, which brings together the various products and services that have been developed in-house in recent years, under a single ecosystem aiming towards the evolution of three key pillars: content enhancement, efficiency in the management of the competition and the fan experience.

As part of its ongoing technology development, LaLiga has teamed up with Microsoft & GSIC. Under this alliance the new Beyond Stats project has been launched: this is the answer to the growing demand from fans to be an active part of the experience and to have access to the same information that clubs have to analyse the game: the statistics provided by Mediacoach, the in-house football data analysis platform that was developed in 2010 and has helped to democratise the competition and transformed it into the most competitive in Europe.

Beyond Stats opens up different ways for LaLiga’s 2,800 million fans to consult match metrics, both through its own web portal and audiovisual broadcasts, incorporating advanced algorithms, machine learning techniques and calculation capacity to process an enormous amount of data and obtain new performance metrics in almost real time, thanks to Microsoft technology. These processes turn the technical prowess of players into dynamic data to give fans a deeper understanding of the game.

And this is just the first step: LaLiga is working on improving its products and services and investing in R&D, which is why impressive developments are foreseen in the coming years.
