01 Nov Real Madrid Foundation joins SEK Education Group to launch its first Educational Football Program in the European Union
SEK Education Group has signed an agreement with the Real Madrid Foundation to implement its first Educational Football Program in the European Union, which will take place at SEK-Dublin, Ireland, and will focus on the integral development of young people through sport.
The agreement, making SEK-Dublin the only school offering this program in Ireland, aims to combine high quality sports training with the teaching of essential values such as solidarity, teamwork, respect and social integration. The collaboration with the Real Madrid Foundation reinforces SEK Education Group’s commitment to education and personal development through the values of sport.
The scheme will also include a first clinic in the second terms of 2025, offering SEK-Dublin students the opportunity to experience the Real Madrid Foundation’s training method. With a focus on instilling values and technical improvement, the programme ensures that all participants can enjoy and learn. This initiative is aligned with the values that SEK Education Group promotes in its schools, encouraging equal opportunities and participation of both boys and girls.
The school will provide first class facilities, as well as a team of coaches and specialised personnel, all of them duly qualified to teach programme in accordance with the guidelines of the Real Madrid Foundation. In addition, the Foundation will actively participate in the selection of the head coach, ensuring that the Real Madrid spirit and training methods are present in all phases of the programme.
SEK-Dublin is the first school in Ireland accredited to teach the International Baccalaureate IB® Middle Years Programme (from 11 to 16) and the Diploma Programme (from 16 to 18 years old).
“We are proud of this alliance with the Real Madrid Foundation, an institution recognised worldwide for its commitment to the all-round formation of young people through sports,” said Alejandro Delso, director of the Strategy and Innovation Unit at SEK Education Group. “This agreement reinforces our mission to offer educational excellence based on the values of sport, and we are confident that this scheme will inspire our students to develop not only their football skills, but also their personal and social growth.”
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s ambassador, Álvaro Arbeloa, expressed his satisfaction with this collaboration, highlighting the role that SEK-Dublin will play in the international expansion of its educational project: “This programme not only teaches football, but also instils fundamental values. We believe that the alliance with SEK-Dublin is key to continue promoting a comprehensive education based on sports.
Sport has always been a fundamental pillar at SEK Education Group. SEK has been recognized on numerous occasions for its commitment to sport and education, including the Joaquín Blume National Sports Award in 1987, with this award also going to Camilo José Cela University in 2010.
