The GSIC Summit's next edition will come to Singapore on January 16-18!
We are excited to share with you that the next edition of the GSIC Summit APAC will be taking place in one of the most spectacular locations of the Singapore National Stadium which will allow us to allocate more attendees and drive more side activities! But in order to secure this amazing venue that will undoubtedly help us bring the event to the next level, we had to adapt the dates to the availability of the venue.
It will become a great meeting point for GSIC members to do networking, share projects, and solutions, exchange knowledge, discover more about technology trends in the sports industry, and create synergies.
The Summit is organized with the support of Sport Singapore and will be attended by different European and Asian sports entities and tech companies who will share their expertiese and knowledge in innovation applies to major sporting events organization, such as Sport Singapore, LaLiga Tech, SAS, Cricket Australia, ONE Esports, SailGP, Porsche, Formula E, HSBC, IMG, Sports Hub, Real Madrid, Football Association of Singapore, and more.
We are excited to finally share with you that for the past couple of months, we have been working on a new GSIC Members Area to improve your experience with us and help to get the most out of your membership.
This new members area is ready in a beta version and we will start the onboarding of our members in batches in the upcoming weeks.
In the new members' area, you can find the directory of all GSIC members and contact them through private chat.
There, we will also create challenges and Working Groups to work in private, host our online events, and much more!

NBA stars shine at NBPA 'Performance Summit' at 'The Sanctuary'
The National Association of Basketball Players in association with the Global Center for Sports Innovation (GSIC) powered by Microsoft, turned the Costa del Sol capital into the world epicenter of basketball and technology for three days. The 'Performance Summit' was a real success and the presence in the talks of the likes of Andre Iguodala, Evan Turner, Donovan Mitchell, and Jaylen Brown left the attendees speechless. MARCA had the opportunity to speak with the protagonists about the importance of technology in sport and about the 'Sanctuary', that space where basketball stars have been able to work side by side in training with the boys and girls of the city.
The GSIC worked with the NBPA on the content program of the Summit to help ensure relevant topics and speakers around technology and innovation in high performance.
Also, our General Manager Iris Córdoba presented Sports Performance problem statements that different sports organizations shared with us in the International Sports Groundbreakers Challenge, and solutions to them that were proposed by startups and tech companies.
On July 25, we held our 11th General Assembly of GSIC members. During the Assembly, our General Director Iris Córdoba presented a summary of GSIC activities in 2022 and the detail of the KPIs for 2022 with largely positive results, as well as gave a detailed breakdown of the activities to be developed during 2023. We also presented the main figures corresponding to the operational and economic activity during the past fiscal year, audited by an independent auditor.

GameDay and English Ice Hockey Association launch new partnership
The EIHA are rolling out GameDay’s core Membership & Competitions integrated platform to the sport, streamlining their club and member registrations and all competition management for the upcoming season.

Seyu, a pioneering digital solution, revolutionised the fan experience, leaving spectators both in the stadium and remote locations in awe.
The GSIC is continuing to work on its expansion to Asia. New members are joining the center each month to add value to the ecosystem and to open new opportunities for our members on other continents.
Eugene Poon, a seasoned professional with a diverse career spanning various sectors, is known for his exceptional skill in managing strategic partnerships and business development. This month, Eugene joined GSIC APACTeam in a role of Project Manager.
In his most recent role as a Manager at the Transformation Office (Partnerships) at the National Youth Council Singapore, Eugene excelled in establishing partnerships with Youth Sector Organizations and government agencies within the education and career guidance space. He was instrumental in the facilitation of the On My Way initiative that supported 670 youths in their career exploration journey, which provided the youth with informed career and education decisions.
Eugene began his career at IMDA as an Assistant Executive, where he coordinated with local advertising agencies on data-driven and technology-enabled proof of concept projects. He also assisted in the organization of a dialogue for Minister Iswaran with the local media TACs.
Before IMDA, he had roles as a Corporate Finance & Development Intern at HSL Constructor Pte Ltd and a Finance Analytics Intern at Eyeota. Eugene has also served as a 3rd Sergeant in the Singapore Armed Forces, where he was awarded Best Soldier of the Month in January 2015 and received an Advanced Certificate in Network Operations Management, Monitoring & Maintenance.
