In June of this year we launched a special series of webinars called Sports Industry Digital Transformation Online Forum organized in collaboration with Sport Singapore, that consisted of session related to the sports such as tennis, motorsport, handball, triathlon, bawling, table tennis and more.

We explored together how the digital transformation is driven by the leading sports entities in these sports, what results they achieve and what’s their plans the future. Within all thesessions we covered important matters starting from these entities’ strategic vision and getting to their actual work on smart facilities, fan experience, performance, business insights & productivity, etc.

Now it is a time for the last session of the series, “Embracing the multisport through technology and innovation. Chapter 4”, that will take place on December 15 at 09:30 (Madrid). This time we will take a look at what’s happening in basketball and sailing.

For this session we will count on the participation of top-notch speakers:

Jesus Bueno – Vice President EMEA – NBA

Known as Chus Bueno, he is a former basketball player and manager and currently Vice President of the National Basketball Association in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Parallel to his player’s career, Chus Bueno joined the Association of Professional Basketball Players (ABP), an entity of which he was appointed Vice-Secretary General in 1995 and Secretary General in 1997. He also holds positions in the Union Basketteurs d’Europe ( UBE), of which he was Secretary General between 1998 and 2005 and later Vice President and Secretary General.

At the end of 2006 he began to work as Executive Director in the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB) with José Luís Sáez. In 2007 they lead the Federation as part of the Eurobasket 2007 at the time of greatest historical boom for the Spanish basketball team. In September 2010 he joined the National Basketball Association. He currently holds the position of Vice President of Basketball Business Operations in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Tim Godfried – Chief Marketing Officer – SailGP

Tim Godfrey joined SailGP in June of 2019 as chief marketing officer where his role oversees broadcast, distribution, content, digital, branding and promotion.

Before that he served in leadership roles with ITN Productions – the creative and commercial arm of the U.K.-based television production company – and FIA Formula E.

As sports partnerships director with ITN Productions, Tim worked alongside global sports properties, broadcasters and rights holders – including the IAAF, English Football League, News UK, Channel 4 (UK) and the International Cricket Council – on media strategy and production solutions. Prior to ITN, Tim Godfrey served as global head of media for FIA Formula E, where he was responsible for media strategy across rights, content creation and digital, broadcast, and distribution. He previously held management roles at Perform Group and Endemol Sport.

Carlos Canto – GSIC Ambassador,CEO of SPSG Consulting Carlos has over 25 years of experience in the Sports, Entertainment and Sponsorship industries. Lead Strategy, Marketing, Organization Consulting projects in 23 countries. Member of the Board of the Spanish Marketing Association. Member of the Advisory Board of WFS-World Football Summit. “Sports Business” professor (ESADE Business School, UE-Escuela Real Madrid, ISDE, Universidad Monterrey – Mexico, etc.). Sports industry business angel and advisor.

This initiative is our contribution to the development and professionalization of the sports industry, and in addition, it brings exceptional content to GSIC members as well as new opportunities to network and facilitate business.
