We are honored to share that the Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC) powered by Microsoft, in collaboration with Founderz Business School, are introducing the groundbreaking Online Program in AI in Sports, designed to reimagine the future of sports, it will prepare the industry professionals to lead the application of AI in all areas of the sports field.

GSIC Hosts Miami Groundbreakers Meetup at Kaseya Center, in collaboration with Microsoft and Sportian
On November 13, the Global Sports Innovation Center (GSIC) successfully hosted the “Miami Groundbreakers Meetup” at the Kaseya Center, home of the Miami Heat. This exclusive event, organized in collaboration with Microsoft and Sportian, marked a significant expansion of GSIC’s connections within the sports tech ecosystem.
The event drew C-Level executives from various sports entities and sports tech companies, all gathered by invitation to engage in a day of innovative discussions and networking. The meetup focused on two main tracks: sharing best practices from Microsoft partners and gaining support from GSIC in these partnerships, and a live pitch session where startups and companies were given a platform to present their solutions to the challenges faced by the sports industry.

On November 22, the GSIC hosted the online presentation of our new White Paper on “The Evolution of, and Innovations in, SportsTech for High-Performance”.
This session delved into the cutting-edge advancements in sports technology, exploring how they are revolutionizing athlete performance and reshaping the sports industry together with Ismael Fernandes, Co-founder of Thermohuman, and Danny Oh, Business Development Director of Pixelscope.
Sport Innovation & Technology Summit – November 28
On November 28, Sport Ireland organized Sport Innovation and Technology Summit which was hosted on the Sport Ireland Campus.
This Summit spotlighted innovation, digital transformation, and technology in Irish sport. It brought together enterprise, technology, and leaders in sports to explore how innovation and technology are shaping the future of sports. Our Strategic Alliances and Business Development Director Iñigo Bonilla participated in the event sharing the best practices of digital transformation of the sports industry by GSIC members.

The second edition of the International Sports Groundbreakers Challenge is on the way
The International Sports Groundbreakers Challenge is coming back this year to motivate businesses to think outside the box and come up with novel ideas in the same spirit as driving transformation and facilitating capability development.
After the success of the first edition last year, where 35 problem statements posted by international sports entities were addressed bt over 70 companies who provided 230 potential solutions to the presented problem statements, this second edition aims to present 50 new challenges!
We invite all the international sports entities to share with us their problem statements that we worked on to present to the sports tech community within the International Sports Groundbreakers Challenge.
The Women Mentors’ Program kicks off with an inspiring session on AI transforming the future of sports
On November 15th, GSIC successfully hosted the inaugural virtual session of its Women Mentors’ Program. This unique initiative by GSIC exclusively features female mentors who are esteemed professionals in the sports industry.
The first session was marked by an insightful and comprehensive presentation from Sebastian Lancestremere, GSIC’s Chairman and Sports Industry Managing Director at Microsoft Corp. He eloquently shared Microsoft’s perspective on the rapid growth and significant impact of AI. Additionally, he provided real-world examples of how this rapidly evolving technology is being applied within the sports sector.
