Startup Competition 2019 gathers applications from 25 during the first months of the call
Startup Competition 2019 call launched by LaLiga and the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft (GSIC) on January 29th is still open and there’s 1 month left to apply.
Companies from 25 countries have already applied and the participants are presenting solutions based on four cornerstones:
Media: OTT, broadcasting, social media, digital content, new media, digital marketing, second screens, graphics, analysis, piracy. Fan engagement: fan profiles, social media, electronic sports, gamification, social listening, community, commercialization, VR/AR/MR, digital games. Smart venues: security, fan engagement, ticket sales, fan experience, food and beverages, connectivity, cashless payments, access control, and guest management. Sports performance: analysis, sports training materials, injury prevention, health and lifestyle, research. Others such as big data, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.
The 10 finalists of the competition will enjoy numerous advantages such as a pilot project with LaLiga, an acceleration program with the GSIC and facilitated access to the Microsoft for Startups program.

Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft and Mediapro announce the winners of the Sport Thinkers eSports competition
OnFebruary 1 and 4, the finalists of Sport Thinkers eSports competition had presented their solutions online to Mediapro and the Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft (GSIC) and after two intense days of online presentations, the winners of the call are:HERO, Brintiaand TTSRTSfrom Argentina, Spain and Chile.
This competition for technology-based companies had helped Mediapro to identify and select of initiatives that offer:
• Development of new business models both in the amateur and professional field of eSports (cross-selling, segmentation, price estimation, etc.).
• New modes of monetization of digital assets.
• Generation of personalized content (video, image and audio).
• Profiling of users, visualization of information and statistics.
• Experiences connected to immersive technologies and 360º audio.
Next March 18 to 20, all the three winners will come to Barcelona for the immersion week with Mediapro.

Participate in GSIC study on Digital Transformation of the sports industry!
The Global Sports Innovation Center powered by Microsoft is preparing a paper on “Digital Transformation of the sports industry in 2025: Envisioning the future”, based on the knowledge and experience of our members to keep our global leadership and positioning in the digital transformation of the sports industry, and also as an entity who helps to envision the future of sports worldwide through digital innovation.
The outcome (collective answers of the questionnaire) will become the pivotal content for a “paper” that GSIC will put together, and that will be presented to the sports industry to tangibilize the global leadership of GSIC in this field and, thus, the global leadership of the members of GSIC in this space. The “paper” will include the names of all the companies and entities that will participate in the survey.
Preceded only by Brussels and London, Madrid will become the meeting point between Spanish companies and the Microsoft program that was designed to support the development and growth of technology-based companies with B2B business models (business – to – business) and that are in the initial phase.

Flanders Horse Eventis an international horse event, organized each year in the middle of the summer. It takes place in pittoresque Beervelde (near Ghent) in Belgium. Valencia hosts the INTERREG INNO4SPORTS event and the CLUSSPORT meeting
FromMarch 25 to 28 the experts in the field of sport will work in Valencia on the sport ecosystems of the participating regions.
The Valencian partners, the Institute of Biomechanics (IBV) and the Valencian Institute of Business Competitiveness (IVACE), the Inno4Sports project will receive participants from Holland, Hungary, Poland and Belgium to star in a four-day meeting of intense work on innovation insport and its capacity to generate socio-economic development in sectors such as tourism and health.
The days are organized in several blocks, the first three days in the framework of sports and the last day is dedicated to the conclusions and the meeting with the regional partners of the Valencian Clussport.
LWF – Leadership Congress for Women in Football, will take place on March 28 and 29,at the WANDA Metropolitan Stadium in Madrid, Spain.
